Moment Magazine was one of my first-year assignments in which I worked in a group of nearly 15 other students to create a full spread magazine. My role was the deputy editor of the project and overseeing the general running of the magazine, ensuring the editor’s wishes are adhered to and: worked on the overall magazine design, liaise with the contributors to keep everyone on track and helped produce the IFC (inside front cover), IBC (inside back cover) & OBC (outside back cover). In addition, I conducted the Mariscan interview, which was the front cover of the magazine and reviewed Marina live at Bournemouth O2.

Generation Rent is an informative and enlightening podcast on issues that affect our generation (Generation Z). This was a group project with several students all working together to create a live podcast. I worked as the podcast editor, which involved communicating with the team through daily meetings, talking with the producers and writers, and guiding everyone to a successful recording. In addition, I overwatched all the copy, social media and understood each individual role for a smooth experience in producing Generation Rent.

As part of the Journalism, Ethics and News Theory module, I produced a critical assignment of an analysis on how the BBC portrayed political candidates through the 2019 general election. Within the research, I pinpointed the two main candidates (Boris Johnson & Jeremy Corbyn) and did a content analysis of the reports within ten days and a survey for the members of the public to answer.

How did the BBC Portray Boris Johnson Compared to Jeremy Corbyn throughout the 2019 General Election?

This specific audio project explores the rise of cannabis within medicine and doctor's prescription especially, CBD. Though the government back in 2018 relaxed laws and allowed specialists to prescribe the drugs, there's a lack of evidence if it is affected. This seven-minute project looks into the advantages and disadvantages of CBD via specifically chosen interviews and an impartiality view from myself. The two chosen interviewees were Natalie Smith & Bartosz Majkut (Founders of Daiba Organic LTD) and Tom Freeman (lead director of the Addiction and Mental Health Group within the Department at the University Bath).

The Bournemouth Insider

The Bournemouth Insider is one of my final assignments of second year, which sourced local news into a university newspaper/magazine. As editor of the whole magazine, I oversee the overall copy and each article worked alongside each contributor and production editor and bought good leadership skills into the whole team. Articles included a range of local news from new student accommodation blocks to BU suspends face to face teaching with a target audience of young adults.
